Drew Furr was born and raised in Wilmington, North Carolina and has been in the ocean his entire life.

As someone who calls the beach his home, he’s fluent in the craft of surfing and discovered his gift of teaching in 2015 when he began doing surf lessons on a smaller scale. As the years have passed Drew has taught hundreds of people how to surf and impacted the lives of many. In 2018, Wave Catchers Surf Camp was officially created and is now in its second year of business. Having taught across many areas in Eastern North Carolina, Drew is offering classes in 2019 at Wrightsville Beach, and Topsail Island.
